I've only read the first 20 tp 30% of the post so far, knowing I may not get around to finish later, I just wished to suggest several of the assumptions appear nieve on multiple levels. For one, the creatures often referred to as the elites, are for the most part, self delusional upstarts. The deep underground habitats/Cities will no doubt be subject to a wide variety of senerios that will include some fairly horrendous reversals of fortune.
The demonic nature of both the highest and lowest nature of these creatures could well see those that consider themselves to pinnacles of elitist power coukl well find themselves earmarked to be eliminated from the passing through this coming evolutionary bottleneck.
There is also the number of survival habitats from previous evolutional bottlenecks that may be known only to groups that have no interest in being seen as contenters and have already quietly settled into a protected comfortable generational safe havens. There are also those that do not seek a future in the race of man or any other race in the running.
Some of us are old, have not passed on their seed, either from choice or circumstance, but unafraid of death may make their own choice as to help or hinder certain individuals pass through to the next age of man or beast.
